This shelter and a bathroom were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps back in the day. Today, it costs TEN DOLLARS TO PARK HERE FOR ONE DAY!!! I know the State of Washington needs money, but really!
The trail climbs up quickly to a clearcut under the powerlines which lead to Bonneville dam.

But the highlight comes up - Pool of the Winds formed by Rodney Falls |
Another view of the falls, yes that is a log resting vertically at the back of the waterfall. To see this you walk out on a rock ledge protected by a fence.
The outflow is rather low in September, in the spring it is much greater and there are many wildflowers along the trail.
